Many of the popular thru-hikes collect data about hikers each year. As the Timberline Trail becomes more popular I’d like to start an annual survey. In addition to providing insightful information for future hikers, I’d like to provide the results of the survey to the Forest Service to help them understand the needs of the trail and hikers who use it.

By continuing to do this other the years I hope to be able to see trend information on changes in equipment, understand where hikers would like to see investment in the trail, and understand the inclusivity of the hiking community.
