Hello There. Welcome to HikeIt! Just a little bit about why I created this website. I love hiking and backpacking and participate in quite a few Facebook groups. One of the things I notice is that there are quite a few people who are asking questions to get into hiking or transition from hiking to backpacking. There are plenty of websites that cater to the experienced hiker and backpacker. That’s not my focus. They already provide reviews of the top-of-the-line, lightest equipment. They do a great job. What HikeIt! aims to do is introduce more people to either hiking or backpacking. I want to share the experience and joy of the great outdoors. Whether it’s directly answering questions or introducing the skills necessary to transition into basic hiking and backpacking as well as great trip suggestions to get you going.
